What the research tools can — and cannot — do with your data.
The short version: the research tools on this site read. They do not write, do not transact, and cannot move your money. Here's the detail.
For research and education. Not financial advice.
The boundary
Read-only, by construction.
This isn't a setting you can toggle or a permission we promise not to use. The research tools and the MCP connector have no order-placement capability at all — which means it cannot be triggered by a bug, a prompt injection, or a bad actor with your session.
- No order placement — the function does not exist
- No fund access, withdrawal, or transfer capability
- Portfolio connections are read-only
- The MCP connector exposes market data only
Why this matters
Most security incidents in finance apps involve something being executed that shouldn't have been. If the software has no ability to execute anything, that entire category of risk disappears. It's the most reliable control available: not building the dangerous thing.
Your data
- Your research stays yours. Your questions and briefs are used to provide the service to you.
- Portfolio data is read-only. If you connect holdings for exposure analysis, TRUE can see them in order to analyse them. It cannot act on them.
- You can revoke access at any time. Disconnect a connector or revoke a key and access ends immediately.
- You can delete your data. Account deletion removes your research history. See the privacy policy for the detail and for how to make a request.
Frequently asked questions
Can the research tools trade on my behalf?
No. The research tools and the read-only connector described on this site have no order-placement capability at all.
Can the AI connector be tricked into moving my money?
No. The connector exposes read-only market data. There is no write capability for it to be tricked into using — which is why we built it that way rather than relying on guardrails.
How do I delete my data?
Delete your account in settings, or contact us. See the privacy policy for details of what is removed and when.
Read the fine print.
We'd rather you actually checked than took our word for it.
